The plant
Red cabbage belongs to the head cabbage varieties. It has strong, waxy leaves, which are formed into a firm head. Its special color is given by the corresponding pH of the soil - the more acidic the soil, the redder it's color. Taste-wise, this cabbage variety is sweeter than other varieties.
Healthy and fresh
SaladRed cabbage salad tastes great as a side dish with meat, but also shines as an appetizer and main course. Since the cabbage in the salad is raw, it still contains all the healthy vitamins and minerals. It is also easy to prepare and is therefore an ideal lunch for the office or quickly made as a party salad for a larger buffet.
